A new online course, which is free to participate in, features three Sheffield Geography students, and one of their dogs.

This course or ‘MOOC’ is introduced by Professor Richard Phillips, and explores the significance of play and playfulness for learning. To do this, Professor Phillips climbs a tree, while the students explore the city in playful but serious ways: Millie is taken for a walk by    Phoebe, a friend’s dog, and this gives a new perspective on places; Iain makes a model out of things he finds in a woodland, which he sees through new eyes; and Ben experiences one place through sounds from another, changing the ambiance of both.
